Storage networking supplier Brocade is parting company from its downbeat and depressed competitors by saying it hopes to report sparkling results for its fourth quarter.
It expects to report revenues of approximately $396m to $400m for the fourth fiscal quarter ended October 25, 2008, above the range of $375m to $385m previously expected in August 2008. Despite October being a recession month for other storage companies, Brocade has seen a rise in revenues.
In particular Brocade's results contrast with Cisco's storage revenues which have declined year-on-year for the last two quarters. Brocade is buying Cisco competitor Foundry Networks so that it can enter the Ethernet networking business.
Brocade expects to announce its fourth fiscal quarter and full fiscal year 2008 financial and operating results on November 20. ®
